What Inspires Me -
Sites That Push My Buttons!

Here are some of the places I go to seek inspiration and clarity

being human

There is so much that is good available on the great world wide web! Sometimes the sheer proliferation of teachings about personal development means we miss the inspirational sites. I would like to share with you the places I personally go to seeking information, teaching, insight, balance and respectful clarity.

Endorsing these sites doesn't necessarily mean endorsing all their content - as in all things discernment is necessary. However, I have found much in the way of fine food for growth here.

My aim always is to find ways of believing that I can add and integrate to my personal mix - to become my own.

I love Urban Monk for simplicity - and for dealing with emotions in a straight forward manner. These writings are inspirational and I come to them often.

This website is a new discovery for me. I am impressed by the clarity and simplicity and yet profound depth of Jim's writing style which immediately spoke to me. I especially recommend his article about How to Meditate.

Why we don't do the things that are good for us!

Why is it hard for us to do the things we know are good for us? What is with us? Why are we not able to do the things which are in our self-interest? What is it that is so difficult about making loving choices?

My dear friend, Kate Marr-Kippenberger, has been writing the Soul Food newspaper column every weekday for some years now. This popular column is not only available in book form, but also is now available as Online Soul Food.

What is Our Self Identity?
Within us all lies the deep yearning to know and to be known. From this comes the question of self identity, who am I? This question lies at the root of all searching on the journey towards meaning and purpose for our lives.

Self Perception

Our self perception determines our behavior - if we think we are inadequate, we act that way. If we think we are splendid, we act that way. The pathway forward towards happiness and authenticity is not determined by something outside ourselves. It’s determined by our own thinking, our own inner process, our self perception.

So if our way forward feels blocked, it is blocked by the way we perceive ourselves, by our fears and how they cause us to act toward ourselves. We take forward with us our unhealed inner negative perceptions and recreate the same situations over and over.
